Every single Heidelberg Press is commanded by highly technological Heidelberg spectral measuring instruments.
The system contains spectrophotometrical software that reads in control elements (mini spots) on the printing sheets and processes them immediately into valuable information which can be used for automatic adjustments.
During the printing process the control of the mini spots guarantees a much larger reliability. The speedy software can detect deviations in the printed colour space and make adjustments in real time.
Moreover the analysis of the mini spots is an advantage for our daily calibration of the CTP-installations and presses, since it is not necessary to go through the complete calibration and proofing process.
This operating procedure not only leads to consistent quality, but also to a more sustainable production process, since we generate less wastepaper and use less ink and electricity.
