Ecologie - Duurzaam productieproces

Efforts towards sustainable development, especially environment-friendly production, are top priorities for our company.

For many decades we have been investing in hightech material with the intention of achieving a more efficient, better, faster and foremost sustainable production.

In collaboration with the Environment Coordinator Geers Offset has drafted an environmental charter which has helped us to achieve the following results:

Environmental Certificates

-  ‘Imprim Vert' Certificate (French environmental label for the graphic industry)

-  FSC Certificate

-  Certified Environment Coordinator

-  VBO Partner Forum 2009 - ‘Sustainable businesses'

            Applications:

-  The use of vegetable bio-ink

-  Alcohol reduced printing

-  Green energy

-  The use of FSC certified paper

-  The Color Management is linked to automatic ink distribution to the presses, resulting in a strong reduction of the number of passing sheets and a more economical use of ink and products.

-  The use of CTP-technology for a faster start-up of the printing presses

-  A personal transport service with Volvo lorries fulfilling the prescriptions of  Eco 5-norms

-  The evolution towards a joint cargo service in order to reduce the number of transports

-  A triennial soil survey made by a specialized lab

-  The professional collection and processing of products

-  The collection of rainwater for sanitary use

-  The acquisition of products in big reusable metal barrels (alcohol, ink, detergents, ....  ) -  no waste of small plastic bottles

-  The use of compostable biofoil with starch
