| Floralies 2005 (Flower Show 2005)
Thanks
to the latest graphical equipment, a very short lead
time is possible. By printing the catalogues for
the Floralies we had the occasion to show a masterly example
of our possibilities.
During the official opening of the show on Thursday
Midday, a photographer took pictures of the royal
couple visiting the Floralies.
In the afternoon, those pictures
were mailed to our offices, where our collaborators started
working at the lay-out of the catalogue. The proofs were forwarded
to the communication department of the show’s organization
through our FTP-system. After approval, the printing presses
were started off.
Our night shifts did their utmost – the
flashing of the CTP-plates and the binding of the booklets
were done by our collaborators – and thanks to those
combined forces we realized a feat of strength. Friday
morning at eight o’clock several thousands
of copies of the catalogue were ready for the public opening
of the flower show.
In other words, less than 18 hours
after the receipt of the digital material.
