Geers Offset contributes to responsible forest management
Early December, Geers Offset obtained the FSC certificate.

IThe FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests.
The ecological production within Geers Offset can only be attained fully if our base materials meet certain standards.
The purchase of paper with an FSC label guarantees that certain conditions are fulfilled. The FSC trademark provides international recognition to organizations that support the growth of responsible forest management.
Responsible forest management takes into account the ecosystem of forests, respects social aspects (the rights of local communities and forest workers) and is economically viable.
The Forest Stewardship Council is an international association founded in 1993 by members of the timber trade and the forestry profession, social groups and environmental organizations.
Worldwide, the area of FSC certified woods amounts to more than 85 million of hectares (figure of January 2007). A large part of that surface is situated in Europe (among which 10 000 hectares in Belgium). It is expected that this area will continue to grow worldwide, which will result in an increasing offer of FSC wood and FSC products.
