| Golden Palm for Geers Offset

Offset wins the Golden Palm at the 'European
Printer of the year' Award in Istanbul. It was
the thirteenth edition of this Award, which is presented annually.
This year, the prize-giving took place in Istanbul.
During a sparkling event at the Topkapi Palace
in Istanbul, Geers Offset Printers received the Golden Palm
in the Catalogues Category.
The jury of the Award was taken by the entry
of Geers Offset, a book about the artist Gabriël
Meiring which proved to be a splendid typographical
publication.
 Meiring
makes paintings in which he incorporates gold and silver.
Thanks to the most recent techniques with regard to photogravure
and printing, the same process could be applied on our Heidelberg
ten-colour press.
Emiel Geers in person accepted the Golden Palm.
Through the annual European
Printer of the Year prize, Sappi wants to award
the best printed matter in Europe and the Middle East.
 The
world finals will take place in Shanghai in October.
