Heidelberg XL 5 and XL 8 color

At the end of June we finally cut the knot: we decided to make the switch-over to the new generation of Heidelberg offset presses, the XL machines.
A visit to the factory in Heidelberg convinced us of the strong properties of these new presses.
Not only have these presses a larger printing size —namely 75 x 105—, they are also much faster and more efficient, for the ink feeding is faster in comparison with the present generation of machines. Consequently, fewer sheets are needed for starting up and the consumption of paper is limited.

Because of their efficiency, these machines have an additional output of 20% as opposed to a ‘classical’ offset press.
The first XL105 machine is expected to be installed in 2007, the second in the early part of 2008. These machines complete our existing Heidelberg machinery, which consists of 41 printing groups.
