Sappi International Printer of the Year

As a pleasing sequel to being voted ‘European Printer of the Year’ in Istanbul last year, Geers Offset was voted "Sappi International Printer of the Year 2005 for Catalogues" on October 21.

Out of a total of 6,000 entries worldwide, the jury again chose Gabriel Meiring's book on art, because of the very innovative graphic printing techniques employed, such as the use of MFX silver, Satin Screening and coatings. The finish of the catalogue also made a great impression and received an extra mention as "top item in book-binding".

This competition, regarded among printers as the most prestigious in the world, appropriately enough, was closed in China, the cradle of papermaking. The ‘Grand Theatre’ in Shanghai provided a splendid backdrop for a magnificent award ceremony.
